add coolant light
add coolant light
hey guys,
i dont know what happened.. first of all, id like to say that im a noob
the 7 wouldnt start again so i replaced the wiring and had to charge her up. i noticed a lil bit of white smoke when it wouldnt start and i started to get really stressed and worried.
i added coolant to the filler cap.. i also noticed there wasnt any in the reservior.. i added some coolant in the reservoir.. not sure if im supposed to do that.. i dont have a bleeder on my radiator so i jus opened up the other cap and i heard a hiss.
i start her up, 2 seconds later.. the add coolant buzzer comes on... omg.. this didnt happen before... im so worried.. plz someone give me some advice.

This exact same thing happened to me, and I got so scared I turned the car off (thank god it didn't flood...). However, the second time I started it up, I simply ignored the add coolant buzzer and drove for about 50 feet. Then, i heard a rushing sound (I presume the coolant rushing into the radiator) and then that's when I realized I probably had an air pocket in there.
Just make sure your engine temp gauge never goes above operating temperature.. the slightest bit and you should shut down your car ASAP.

why did you start another thread? stick to 1. by keeping it in 1 thread people will understand what you've already tried and what has been happening,
theres a very specific procedure you need to follow when filling up the coolant to ensure you have no air bubbles trapped in there, find it and memorize it, use it
