act s/s clutch

I currently have the act street/strip clutch in my car wiht the heavy duty pressure plate. The car has yet to go to the tuner so it is running on my wastegate spring (12 psi). As of now i have not had the clutch slip; however, i am going to be raising the boost to 23-25 psi when my tuner comes to town. This should put me in the 500hp range and high 300/low 400 torque range. Does this clutch stand a chance at holding this power? If i need to replace this clutch i am going to go with the spec stage 3 6 puck clutch from rx7store.net. Any comments on this clutch setup?

Thanks

im pretty sure the torque matters more than the horsepower. the act website should have the specs of the clutch.

In my experience it seems to hold well until the 325ft/lb range....but this is all dependant on flywheel condition etc.

Don't change it out unless you know you have to. And if you had to, I wouldn't use SPEC. Grab an ACT 6 puck and just change it out for the solid face, sprung friction plate you're currently using.

I'll second going with ACT for a high end clutch. From what I've read, people seem to have trouble with the spec 6 puck. On the other hand, I haven't seen any complaints about their stage 1-2 setups, but you'd need much more than that.

Yeah I'd use the sprung hub. HD PP will be fine, I've broken the pivot ball using the extreme PP before.

The 6 puck sprung + HD PP should hold ~400ft/lbs or well over 500hp
