ABS conversion - brakeline question

Just a quick question guys.
I'm converting my ABS to non-ABS
For the line to the rear wheels, do I need the whole line (splitter and all) or just the line from the master cylinder to the splitter?

If it helps, I'm taking the lines off my 88 s4 and putting them on my 89 s5.

The reason I ask is because the FSM shows the lines to be different shapes, but they look the same and the splitter is mounted in the exact same location.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks,

Jake
