when I see a muffler that big I always think the owner must be trying to compensate for having something really small in their pants

purchase is one thing, buying the big muffler and actually putting it on your car is another..

I used to have two Apex-i N1 mufflers, one on each side. It was abnoxiously loud cruising at 3k. My friends called them the water melon cannons and said I could smuggle mexicans in them.

Backpressure? This is not a honda. No backpressure required. When you get them welded on make sure you ask for the JDM Angle down so it looks REALLY terrible.

Oh lighten up you rich bastards.... There is nothing wrong with a freaking "ricer" muffler....... I am not a fan of the single outlet, but different strokes for different folks... Here is my (god forbid) non-racing beat setup on my old 7....

Racingbeat header
Catco freeflow cat
Racing beat Y section
2- 4inch tip EFX N1 style mufflers

I thought that the 86-88 NA's needed backpressure to operate the 5th and 6th ports.

These are IYO the riceiest pipes I could have put on then. Hey I even got em angeled up and out. RB headers to a custom 2.5" mid pipe/y-pipe, to super cheap mufflers (unworthy of naming brand). Oh dont worry about them being loud, they will be. I've had a buddy of mine tell me that he can hear me at redline on the freeway late at night. His house is about 2-2.5 miles away. People know when Im exiting the freeway to go to my bros. Thats about half a mile away.

Im not proud of my exhaust choice, but it was ALOT less money than the RB full exhaust. I now want an RB full exhaust though since having to start carring earplugs in my glove box for passengers.

I Love the look on peoples faces when I fly by their car and shift from 2nd to 3rd and they hear that earth shattering POP, and they know that I harness the power to fry the **** out of thier front bumber. 18" blue flames are no joke.

Not the same thing, It requres pressure from the split air pipe, cut that pipe off, and you won't have any pressure to open the ports. Back pressure on a piston car has something to do with valves and lift or something. Who the hell knows I hate over complicated systems

I plan on picking up the RB 3 inch turbo back exhaust some day. It's so nice, and it sounds GREAT.

Well instead of wasting your money on a rice cannon you should have picked up a borla cat-back. Or RB mufflers...

BTW, what do you think the difference between a $30 ebay muffler and your "JDM" muffler is? Nothing.. Really. If you look inside your "jDM" muffler it is just a straight piece of pipe with resonator holes and packing inside a pretty 304 stainless can....

SO IS THE RICER MUFFLER..... It's all about the packing when the pipe goes straight through there is no difference.

You essentially wasted your money by overpaying for a "brand Name" ricer muffler.

I'm sure you will be happy with it.

But don't fool yourself thinking that you are better then the $30 ebay guys when they just happen to have an extra $170 to spend on other things..

Well, not to be a dick, but a lot of the times the actual materials and welds are higher quality, sometimes they are not. But the welds on my apex'i n1 are quality. looks like rolled coins, you won't find that on ebay peices.
