AAS and Aftermarket Shocks

Well, we all know this sounds crazy, but I don't think it is - afterall, the stock AAS are Tokicos.

I'm finally putting new shocks on my aftermarket car. Just peaking at how the aas works, it turns a fork 1/4 of a turn from normal to sport mode. My front KYB shocks have a female flathead area to adjust the valving that changes position every 1/4 turn to go from 1 to 4. If I took a small piece of sheet metal I don't see why it wouldnt be able to turn the aftermarket shock.

For us visual people
Stock aas goes <-oooo000000000
Why couldn't aftermarket go <->ooooo00000000
The - being the shim adapter.

Does anybody think this will clear the hood?

So normal would be at the 1 setting, sport would be at 2, normal at >50mph would be 2, and sport at >50mph would be 4.

Of course, with kybs the rear isn't an option.

Sounds like it would work as long as the AAS still functions like it should. Tein makes an electronic controller that lets you adjust stiffness inside the car. Now that would be sweet.
