rotors excite me

I just installed an S5 alt and wired the S? terminal to the positive terminal, going straight to the + terminal on the battery (however that pic showed in a recent thread), BUT my old stock alternator, new as of the last 1.5 years, acted about the same. Like I said I was seeing 13.8-14.1V. Because of all the stress my battery has seen it's probably time for another one once I fix the slow turnover issue.

Should be fine then... your alt is probably just old.
Unless it is dropping or staying under 13.5 voltson a regular basis then I wouldn't worry, as you probably have a little life still in it.
On the other hand, now would be the perfect time to rebuild the alt... before anything fails miserable and strands you.

Thanks to everyone for your time and feedback!

Is there any company that makes high output altenators for our cars. Or is the only option to upgrade to a FD altenator. In that case does anyone have the write up for fitting a fd altenator onto a S4
