90 Vert Seat Covers

Costco is offering CoverKing Neoprene seat covers. Having just moved to Austin TX (every day is 100) with black leather seats (in very good shape) seat covers seem like a much less painful way to get thru the day.

I was shocked to see they had the covers for verts.

Custom Fit Seat Covers - CR Grade Neoprene 1990 Mazda RX-7 50/50 bucket, FOR CONVERTIBLE ONLY

I asked thru their support system if these supported the headrest speakers. They didn't know and said they build the patterns from the real seats.

Were the headrest speakers standard on all Verts? If not, are the Vert seats the same shape with and without headrest speakers?

I don't mind taking them to an upholstry shop to have the speakers exposed. But the need to fit first.

Thanks

I've searched the archives for CoverKing but didn't get any relevant hits.

I havn't seen any stock vert without those speakers. I do believe they are standard. The verts came with many standard options not found on the the other models. Like real leather seats.

No, headrest speakers were only found on P Package verts. P package become standard in 89 for US models, but was still optional in non us models.

This is covered in the Standard features and options sticky thread found at the top of this the 2nd gen RX-7 technical section.

The Non-P package verts had the same headrest as was found on the GXL models.

Seats were the same however.

And Costco has a "You can return your purchase for any reason" policy anyway, so if they don't work, just return them.

Always good to know that a piece of flesh won't be stuck to your car Seat after you get out of it..LOL!..If you get them, I would be interested to see what they look like.I have a set of Seats for my FC that have seperate Headrest, and I wouldn't mind finding a Cheap set of Covers.(assuming The Canadian COSTCO Inventory is comparable to that of the States)

Thanks, guys

We'll order em and see how they work. The car is in the shop getting painted. The transport company backed it off the transporter with the door open and crushed it against the post that supported the upper level. Should be done by the end of the week.

I'll post a pic.

Cosco's got some good discounts on those, but I'd need to see them in person.

The red doesn't look too bad, but that medium blue would CLASH SERIOUSLY with Mazda's darker blue interior I bet:
