90 rx7 with 95 engine, but needs electrical coil

i found this car, its only for 1000. 5spd. this girl is moving she says, but she says i need to charge the battery or something, im not sure if she knows what shes talking about, but damn its a sweet *** deal. im just wondering wth the electrical coil is, cause if its an easy fix ill pick this sucker up today. im not a car expert or anything and i dunno if i should have someone good with cars look at it first...

i doubt it has a 95 engine in it seeing that the 1st engine that pops into mind from a 95 car is a 13b-rew from an FD. And we all know that those swaps arent cheap. most ppl pay upwards of $10,000 to do this swap. For 1000 bux i doubt its what she says it is. But then again, she might know nothing about the car and might be judging the price from the outside instead of the inside. The electrical coil is most likley the ignition coils. They take a small amount of electricity from the cars powersystem and amplifies the power output. Roughly 30,000volts if im not mistaken. this power is sent to the sparkplugs to create a spark to ignite the fuel. If i were in your shoes and this car is really what this lady says it is, i would leave this car for the more expert person, no offense. If i had my mind set on an RX7 id would probably buy a basemodel 7, work with that for a little while. polish your skills up a littlebit by working on it, then go for something bigger like a T2 or an FD. we all know that these cars can be finicky. By no means am i trying to offend you at all, im just trying to helpyou out in the long run. If it is a custom job, ordering parts, working on it etc.... may be more difficult than a normal rx7. just my $.02, im not trying to hate.... just cautioning you but if you are up for the challenge, by all means, go for it, you have the forum members to help you out if you runinto any problems. -alex
