Question 90 N/A vs. 1500 Hemi

Hey guys,
Got a question for ya. My buddy has a 2005 1500 Hemi...no crew cab....huge aem intake, Jet chip, flowmasters exhust. My mods are in sig. I have run him before, but only on 4 ports(Chris at Banzai racing fixed that) and no safc or tune. I had him through first, but after 50 mph he run/walked by me. Do you think I could take him now or not. Chris at Banzai racing has done most of the work to my car and says i'm pushing 200hp to the wheel. I know he probly got over 320 to the wheels now, but he soooooo heavy, areodynamics, and gearing, could all effect him.

200hp n/a...on a streetport...optimistic?

I'm surprized he didnt kill you off the line w/ wider tires and **** load of torque.

Personally, I dont think you'll win.

I doubt you're close to 200hp at the wheels.
If you're running stock ECU and stock AFM, you might get up to 180, but I doubt anything over that.

I'm surprised you hole-shot that thing; he should've easily beat you off the line.
If anything you should be able to beat him on the top end - if you didn't before, you won't now.

Well, he was sluggish off the line. Being an automatic, and me launching pretty hard. I know for a fact I took him (On 4 ports) through first.

Careful, you'll give someone a complex.

I've ridden in one of the early Hemi RAMS and it was downright tire frying fun. (I'm an old Mopar guy anyway, so I'm a little biased). But I'd have to agree, I'd say the only reason you beat him off the line was because he was sleeping or he didn't feather it and was frying his tires. Of course the other option is that he didn't know you were racing him and he was just driving normally when he passed by you.

Anyway, the torque will kill you -- again, I'm surprised you were ever ahead of him at all and doubtful you would be in most circumstances w/o major modifications.

So you take one's WORD on power output? Give me a break. Very few N/a's get to that level and with a lot of work! Throw your car on the dyno to give yourself a reality check.

I've driven my car billions of times and that gives me no credit to claim any HP. I know who Chris is and IIRC i'm on his mailing list, I don't mean any offense to him personally but I don't think being a master mechanic gives you the ability to claim HP numbers. He may have told you it will be close to or around 200hp but I doubt when asked clearly he would say your car has XXXHP at the wheels, that's just dumb for anyone to make this type of claim.

More posts gets more respect? What? Your man "chris" obviously has no posts so I guess he IS full of ****.

Way to get yourself started here.

You're getting funnier by the minute, I used to be like you, heck i'm probably still like you!

Money spent means nothing in respect to the degree of modification. I've spent twice as much as you and i'm no claiming 150whp much less 200.

Edit: BTW my post count has nothing to do with what kind of a "guru" I am, some guru's don't even post here, I just read a lot and try to understand the best I can.

you probably HAVE gained 35rwhp over stock...putting you in the 160~165rwhp area if the work was done correctly.

Only way to prove anything is to put the car on the dyno.

Okay this has gotten down to a My ***** is bigger than your's thread, so its time to close it.

And Ted is right, now way in hell are you gonna have anything over 180 HP on the stock ECU and only a street port. With the mods Anti-Rice-Cannon has outlined, I would suspect closer to 130-140 at the wheels.
