'89 TII - Few small problems, need help
Guys,
Car has only 43,000 miles and is in mint condition. Has a few small problems. I had an '87 TII but all this S5 stuff is new to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Wipers don't work properly:
Slow and High speed work but the wipers don't return to the rest position when the switch is turned off.
Int. Wipers start to work but only move a few inches and then do not continue. You have to turn the low speed on to get them to continue on.
Speaker on passenger side door (stock) pops and cracks and buzzes loudly if ANY base is tuned in. Sounds blown, is this probable for a stock speaker? Anybody have their stock speakers from an '89 TII?
Thanks for any help.
Todd

That wiper switch problem is so common with RX-7s, I'm surprised you didn't run into it with your 87. Anyways, you'll need to buy a new wiper switch, OR replace the relays in the switch as they like to burn out. There's a million threads on this and I believe www.fc3s.org has a write up on this fix.
Regarding your speakers, I would just replace them with some nice Polks or any other aftermarket speaker. Those paper cones disintegrate over time and sounded like garbage from the factory.
