89 T2 Back From BodyShop

Well here's the details:

Dupont HotHues Lemon Glow Yellow Paint.
*ALL* Lenses Tinted using a DuPont Imron Paint
Wiper Arms, and Wiper Cowl Painted using Dupont Imron Paint
Bottom of hood and engine bay painted DuPont Imron Black
Rotary Extreme FC2000 Replica Bumper
Stock Sideskirts, spoiler, and rear bumper

The wheels on it are my old crappy wheels that i left on for it to get painted with, when i get it all finished I'll be throwing on 17" Motegi FF7's with hyper black center and polished lip, altho i dont think they'll be wide enough so ill probably sell them and get a different style not long after i get it on the road.

Right now the motor is out getting ported, (stage 2 intake, stage 3 exhaust) When i get it back I'll send it out to JHB Performance for ceramic coating. Then i rebuild it using 3mm RA Seals, but not RA springs. Then ill be putting on a T78, MSD Coils, WOlf 3d V4, Dual Walbros, "SuperNOW!" Primary and secondary fuel rails, 890cc/1680cc injectors, FD Intake, NPR Large FMIC, Fluidyne Rad, -8AN Fuel Feed from pumps to rails, -6AN Fuel Return, 10mm wires, new colder plugs, Innovate LM-1 Wideband with Aux2 Input, and well probably a ton more stuff.

95% of it i have in my possesion already i have to grab some I/C pipes and then itll basically just be assemble it get it running then tune it. Hopefully it'll be running next spring. It';s been down since Sept '04.

oh and the hood is open a bit, theres no latch right now, and the bumper has to be brought back and touched up a bit once its all together cause i have to align the lights. Plus the car is only compounded, not waxed/polished at all.

All that money and a NPR intercooler? Seems like ya could do a hair better there!

Those rims aren't all too bad, they'd look really good if they had a center cap or something.

Sounds like you've got a VERY nice project in the works...

So far everything looks very impressive.

Tint looks great... I'm glad it's still few and far between a good tint job... lol.

great car, great body/paint work. I dont think smoking out all the reflective side markers and taillights is the best idea though.

thanks for all the kind comments.

Those wheels are some enkei knockoffs that came on the car when i bought it, the paint is falling off of them etc, and theres only 3 center caps, altho none are on right now.

As for the tinting process on the lights, im not exactly sure but theyre sprayed from the outside but youd never be able to tell. THe car has absolutely *nothing* in it so i cant turn the lights on or anything, the only thing in the engine bay is the brake booster, steering rack, and body harness.

As for the NPR intercooler, i like it, the inlet/outlet's are in a way that makes it ridiculously easy to run the I/C Piping, its sized nicely, it polishes up good, it mounts snuggly where i put it, and it should handle anything my t78 throws at it.

One other thing i forgot to mention is the power goals. I'll be trying to run 20psi, on water injection, and looking for over 500hp to the wheels. Once the motor and **** is assembled i just have to start on the interior, itsa decent now but definitely needs new seats as the stockers are destroyed.

Once again thanks for all the comments, theres still plenty of work left .

Didn't Autospeed (or some other Aussie site?) test the NPR and concluded it didn't flow well?
The NPR core itself is kinda thin?
2.5"?
A T78 has the potential to produce enough airflow for 500hp at the wheels!
I think the core is kinda small?

light shine through no problem, plus the color of the car itself will tell people the car is there

RETed, i believe the core is 3" thick, could be wrong havent looked at it in over a year now. I'll still be running an RB DUal catback section, so i do have some tweaking to do. If the core doesnt flow well it will be replaced, if the exhaust restricts spool and power output it will be replaced, i actually have another exhaust on my 88 N/A that i could swap over which is probably in the area of 3-3.5" (it came with the car, not my personal preference lol)

As of right now I just want to get it running bust some of the bugs out, then when i go to get it tuned ill look at any weaknesses we find, such as the IC or the exhaust. if the hurt power output, like i said, they'll be swapped out.

I've got way too much money in the car to start being lazy/sloppy now.

As for cost of the paintjob, well we will just say i paid the same price for the car as for the paintjob. you can figure out what that figure would be.

Thanks again for all the kind words, I'll keep you informed as the motor work progresses. Here's to a running car by Spring of '06 .

Oh and also on the power output, my start-off goal is to hit in the area of 500hp at 20psi with water injection etc. Once i have it running stable at 20psi I'll go over the engine and everything look for weak spots, if nothing scares me we will turn it up to 25psi and see what we can make. If that goes well, we will just have to see what else we can do.

I'm not a guy who will own a t78 and run it at 15psi, that would be pointless.

kevin.
