89 rx7 running rich

I have a 1989 non turbo convertible. Stock other than straight pipes. I get terrible gas mileage and I can tell it's running pig rich. Gas pours out of the tail pipes. How do you adjust the air/fuel mixture? I searched but couldn't find anything. Stock ecu also

There is no carburetor so it's done automatically by the ECU through inputs measured off of your MAF sensor, TPS, water temp sensor, IAT, etc. The car usually runs slightly rich anyway. If it's running very rich, something is probably telling the ECU you have a massive amount of air coming into the motor and it's keeping the injectors open. Check TPS and MAF as a start.

The FSM will guide you to test the AFM and other sensors. Using the advanced search feature will also help you. And if your ignition is sub par then it will not ignite the fuel completely.
