89 motor with 88 ecu. GSL-SE

Need some opinions,

I just went for a test drive in my GSL-SE (89' T-2 Motor) with (88'T-2 ECU) 3" downpipe no exhaust yet "LOUD".
Stock intercooler, No FCD. No boost gauge yet.

Here's the problem.

It takes about 20 minutes for the rich and lean gauge to go to rich. If i give it a little gas while at lean, the car sounds real ugly" Bogging".

When the car finally warms up (20 minutes later) it runs pretty hard until about 5k rpm, I guess the fuel cut off kicks in.

My question is. Why is it taking so much time to warm up? Is it cause I used an 88' ecu.

ps: I used the 88' ecu because I used a mechanical OMP.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Luis

how is your thermostat? the ecu and engine temp are not related. how old is the o2 sensor? the needle should be moving within a couple of minutes

thanks for the reply,

you know, it's been 4 month's since i dropped in the engine, and now I can't remenmber if I even have a thermostat. the o2 sensor looks pretty old, but the car does sound like **** while it's on red, but when it finally starts reading rich the car sounds and accelerates fine.

By the way i frogot to mention I'm using a bosh 300hp fuel pump. So I think the fuel supply is good. (stock Regulator).
