89 GXL Idle problem

I just got a good deal on an 89 GXL with 65k on it. THe car has an automatic trans. While in drive from time to time the car will stall. And it will allways stall with the air on with the transmission engaged. is this a common problem? The car set in storage for a year and a half prior to the former owner getting it out to sale.

The car Idles at around 700rpm while in park and at around 500rpm while in drive.

My initial thought was fuel filter or maybe i just need to adjust the idle speed. I would like to get some educated opinion before starting.

Any help would be appreciated!

I have the same problem. i have an 88Gxl with the AC on and in gear it likes to stall. the only way i could get around it for now is to turn up the screw on the injection plate. Right where it says 13b injection there is a screw i think its the idle screw i turned it up and it runs alittle better

It sounds like your BAC is not working right, or the idle air bleed is so low that the BAC can't make up enough.
