89-91 TII engine in 88 TII chassis

after 63K hard miles my original engine is died a few weeks ago (a huge boost spike and fuel cut helped) so now i have an 89-91 J_spec on it;s way.

can you guys help me come up with a list of things to keep in mind while doing the swap. especially things i can remove/ bypass.

For example. I will be doing the TB Mod sence the upper intake manifold is of anyway. can i reroute the water line from the nipple on the water pump into the nipple on the rear side housing (that connects to the bottom of the TB?

what solenoids can i remove?
ACV and EGR will be removed, and i have a non-emmisions car. i will have a stock 89-91 Turbo for a few weeks until i put a TO4 in.

Sorry for the lack of organization, i have been taking the car apart all day.

Thanks in advance

i have the 89+ motor in my 87 T2. if you can find/afford the 89+ ecu & wiring harness its a lot easier to do the swap. if you use the 87 ecu and harness you have to swap a few engine parts. i went with the 87 ecu and harness on mine, and it was a little tricky at times. pretty much you have to swap over to the 87 front cover, water pump, upper and lower intake manifold, there might be somthing else but i forget. is not terribly difficult, but it takes a litte work. i cant remember if the 88 T2s had the high or low impedance injectors, i think it was just the 87s that had high impedance. so you shouldnt have to worry about swapping your injectors too. thats pretty much it i think. pm me if you have ny more questions, im happy to help if i can.

I was pretty much aware of those things...

I am most interested in obtaining a list if things i do NOT need, ie emmisions stuff
