89-91 non turbo strange noise before startup?
I've got a 1990 model convertible...my 2nd S5. The last one I had 10 years ago. Haven't had it very long.
Anyway, been doing some underhood inspections and with the key in the ignition, in the on position, it sounds like something is humming or making some kind of strange sound. It is very consistent and almost sounds like a fuel pump is priming or similar....and doesn't change or go away.Hard to tell where it's coming from, but definitely seems abnormal. Engine not running of course, shouldn't it be completely silent before start up?
Almost sounds like it's coming from the ACV perhaps?
