88se to t2 questions

hey guys, ive been doing alot of research and stuff about doing the t2 swap on my 88se. ok, so what i have coming to me is a complete t2 motor and trans. i know i need the wiring and harness and what not. couple questions that i couldnt seem to find the answers too were if i decide to use the n\a tranny(its brand new) would i need diff tranny mounts? also, why doesnt the t2 tranny not work with the se rear end?

this is going to be a car that i drive daily(im not a rough driver and dont like launching any cars so im not worried on tranny wear because of that) so as long as im not retarded and try launching at 5k rpms should the tranny be fine? also this car is going to be eventually entered into drift competitions when they come around my way(im part of a team its cool haha) what should i do as far as the rear end? well let me know what guys think and send me some help. links pics, personal experience would be sweet. latr guys

No one wants to help, because it has been covered countless times and this has all been covered in the FAQ for FC at the top of this section with links in the FAQ, but the short of it is:

It would be best to use a 87.5-88 Turbo engine harness, but you can re-wire the exisiting harness if you are handy with electrical and can run wires.

Yes you need a new tranny mounting bracket to use a R type tranny in a car that came with a M type.

The output of the R-type tranny does not mate up with non turbo versions, so you need a custom drive shaft, or a Turbo drive shaft and rear end.

Please read the FAQ for FC and its links next time before posting.

you need a rear diifferential and drive shaft from a turboII i dont see why you shouldn't go for a turbo II rear if you are trying to do drifting

by eventually entered... it wont start drifting untill im satisfied with how the car is set up... im on a budget like most ppl. i also have another car i race, and if you do race, you know racing your only daily driven car its kinda sketch... you crash you lose your car. so for the time being it might be easier for me to just do the turbo swap so i have a running daily driver while i search for the rest of the parts. everyone knows its hard to find a rear end with the stuff for a complete turboII swap, well at least for me its been hard.

if im using the n\a tranny, can i used the stock tranny mount? or would i need something else(stonger diff placement?)

You are using a non-turbo (M-type) tranny??? Yeah, well if you went that way, you would keep the non turbo drive shaft and rear end.

Please read the Turbo links in the FAQ for FC... they are right at the top of the section and they do cover this!
