88 Vert Seats

I bought an 88 vert about two months ago. I love this car, it is the first fun car I have ever bought. Everything else was utilitarian trucks and crap. Anyway as far as I can tell all of the verts came with the head rest speaker seats. The seats that are in it are not, but they do match the interior. I would like to get the original seats in leather. Anybody know where you could find them or is it possible this car didnt come with them originally. Every picture Ive seen so far is the speaker headrests with leather.

I have two of them, they would need to be re-leather, and yes they have the speakers in the headrest and they still work awesome. shipping them would probably cost a hefty price cause of the okward shape and they weight probably 20lbs per seat

I believe www.leatherseats.com has a patern for the convertibles with headrest speakers. Be sure to tell them they DO have a patern for these seats as it's not on their list currently.

In '88 the package that included the leather seats, leather door panels, cd/tape/am fm and headrest speakers was an option. It is possible your '88 vert came with originally with cloth seats and door panels and no cd player or headrest speakers. I'm assuming you don't have the headrest volume controls in the console because you didn't mention it.

That is exactly correct. In 88 there were two models of the vert available. A P package one that came with door key lights, tilt steering wheel, leather, headrest speakers etc, and a standard vert with cloth seats (simular to GXL cloth seats), no tilt steering, and weighed about 100lbs less than the over weight 3003 lbs P package vert.

And WildRX, the Standard features and Options sticky thread at the top of this section covers this. you may wish to read that thread as well as the FAQ for FC sticky threads before posting.
