Unhappy 88 vert alarm driver side door not arming?

The alarm worked fine yesterday. If I arm it from the passenger door it works, but it won't arm from the drivers side door.

Any ideas?

This car seems like one problem after the other.

The switch for the alarm arming circuit is in the door lock, and so is the switch to automatically lock the passenger door. The switch in the passenger and driver door needs to be engaged to arm the system. I had this same issue with my car because it sat for 2 1/2 years. I'd suggest pulling both doors and switches and cleaning the contacts, or buying new switches from mazdatrix.

I got mine to work from several weeks of locking and unlocking the doors. I assume the locking and unlocking rubbed the corrosion, caused from sitting, off the contacts and they started to work. They work almost every time now.

Do I need to pull the whole panel off to clean them? I pulled off the handle cover yesterday but didn't see a way to take out the lock switch.

Only S5 will lock the passenger door lock. Pull of the driverside panal and replace door lock.
Thanks Robert
