need WAAAAY more information here.

Who's stage 4 turbo, for starters, and what are the specs?

what other modifications have been done to the car? list ALL the engine related mods. What are you tuning it with, etc?

I think he meant s4.... Just going out on a limb....

he only has 2 posts.. You know the search function doesn't show up until you have 10-15 posts.

yup, we need more info. searching before posting is always the best option, as this topic has been covered a few times. we just need more info on the engine condition and build, the fuel mods, the engine management, etc.. there are different amounts of boost best suited to your application.

hopefully you will be doing some fuel mods, bigger injectors, probably new ecu, at least a rtek when they come out for the s5, and a much much larger intercooler than stock. if not, I'd say about 4psi of boost with with that turbo, maybe 8psi if your lucky

yep, you'll need some fuel mods.

You said you had a walbro 255 allready, that's a great first step.
for a turbo like a T70 you're probably going to want a standalone EMS of some sort (megasquirt perhaps) and then some bigger injectors. 720 primaries and 1000cc secondaries (or larger)

What if he is on the stock s4 turbo? Has the Walbro 255, and a 3" all the way back exhaust. How high could he have gotten then?

short answer: ~8.6 psi. long answer: you need fuel mods, or else pop goes the rotary.

PS, If I have a fuel cut defender, would I be able to get up to 10 safely?

u really need to port the turbo wastegate first to eliminate boost creep..i got a s4 with 3in rev 2 rb exhaust and bonez short ram and it creeped up to 12 in end of 3rd and upper gears.....port wastegate and the bigger the better and mayb u wont end up lik me>>>

You could get up to 10 with a FCD, but I wouldn't necessarily call it safe. Safer than fuel cut.

I agree, port the wastegate. The s4 wastegate is about the size of my pinky.

get back to us when you have about $2000 in engine management, tuning, and fuel upgrades.

No joke!!! You can't just go throwing on a turbocharger and calling it a day, that is how engines BLOW UP! You need fuel mods, and with fuel mods comes a way to manage those fuel mods, then you have to control the boost, especially with that turbo! I hope you have some money saved up cuz if you don't take these ideas into account you are looking at a steaming pile of rotor sheit.

i ran stock S4 turbo, mazdatrix FCD, walbro pump and a blitz BOV with a 3.5 inch exhaust STOCK wastegate / stock everything else (even airbox).. ran 12 psi naturally for months and my engine is perfectly fine, now im running microtech, hybrid garrett turbo and a few other things (proper setup) with the other setup it was fast as hell but it ran rich as a bitch and my intake was cooked from shooting 6 -7 foot flames everytime i let off at 3,000 rpm. my wallet was also empty from spending 10-15 bucks in gas a day! (stock BOV + stock ecu = running mega rich when it goes off)

note this is on the orig. engine from 1985 ! 144,000 and still tickin.

must not have been stock injectors no way could you run rich on stock injectors at 12 psi.

how ... did your intake get cooked from your exhaust shooting flames? are you posting drunk or something?

Stock ECU with an aftermarket blowoff valve that vents to the atmospher (like the blitz) would cause it to go rich (and backfire for a second).... not having the stock BOV (vents back into the system of air that has already been metered ) ... sounds like you have no clue..

you crazy canadians.

i had a blitz DD BOV on there (forgot to mention)..well , the intake was black and crispy on the inside , from running rich which caused flames im guessing ( not flames actually going into the intake lol) and i was running stock injectors .. and unless my autometer boost gauge was lieing i was boosting at 12psi
