88 Turbo Convertible

I'm looking at buying a low miles 88 with aftermarket turbo. The car is in excellent shape and has less than 22K on the odo. Question is - does a turbo detract on the value of such a low milage car or does it help value?

Also looking for any ideas on what this vehicle may be worth - looks factory new.

Thanks!

I think personally the gauges and turbo would devalue the car to me.

Fr me It would help , low miles wold mean the car itself should be in much better condition.

They will never be worth big enough money that the engine modifications will hurt it.

This is to say it has all been well done and tuned

If it's low mileage and the turbo was installed right you should be good. I bought a swap myself it's turning into a nightmare, so good luck.

The half-assed gauge installation throws all kinds of red flags for me. If they didnt care enough to do a good job on what you see all the time, what kind of a job did they do on the turbo install?

The car looks really nice. Does the interior look like 22k miles?

it would be a devalue to me, i've seen turbo verts and most are not done correctly so the engine probably won't last. which is a shame if it really is that low mileage.

next question you have to ask yourself is: "how is the intercooler breathing?"
answer: "it isn't"

a high compression engine, with turbo, shitty mounted gauges and heat soaking intercooler are all red flags of a poor job.
