The ones on the 87.5+ are bright red, but some people call them purple, the same is true for the plugs on the wiring harness. While the older s4 cars have a brownish, tan toped injectors and plugs.

hrm... thanks... that helps me rest a little easy. I guess it would be kinda STUPID for them to put 460s in a turbo rotary.

and remember its not really the color, but location of the guide pin.

There can be red, pink, brown, purple colors, but its the guide pin that determines the type.

I didn't know about the other colors, but just make sure that you have the high imped injectors in 87.5+ and the low imped in the early cars.

I don't know why people would call a red thing purple, but they sure look red to me. however when I was discribing my jspec to a local shop (over the phone) they asked what color the injectors are, I said red, then they said OK you got the purple toped ones, that means your motor is from an 88.
