88 sE rx-7 PROBLAMS PLEASE HELP

Hi guys, I have a question, I bought my rx-7 when I returned from doing my tour in Afghanistan, everyone else bought new cars, I went with my 7 since I have wanted one for some time. I am having a little problam lately. I cleaned it up, paint job body kit, seats I have been keeping the engine clean and up on its maintenance. Lately I have noticed that my engine is running a little rugged. At times it runs like a champ, but feels like it is all of a sudden being held back. not sure the problam. has new spark plug snad wires, air intake is clean and has had an oil change within the last 2 months. Does anyone have any idea what could possably be wrong. Your guys's help would be greatly appritated since I am trying to learn more.

Thanks.

Hey Bullet, first you would want to check the vacuum lines... do you know how to take the UIM off? B/c that is were it seems like most lines crack, mainly the vacuum lines that hook up to the top of the oil injectors. One frigged vacuum line will make your car run like crap... If you dont believe me, turn on your car and remove that huge line that is coming from your intake and going to your BAC soleniod, your car should stall out... So, after you check out your vacuum lines, then you check out your fuel system, make sure that the filter isnt clogged, check that the injectors arent clogged and that clips are connected properly and that it has the right amount of energy flowing through it, and that your fuel pump is working and getting suffient power... Then, if all that doesnt fix it, you might want to start checking your emmissions components, my car ran like crap when the BAC took a ****. Make sure all sensors are connected, a bad water thermo sensor had me crying one day thinking that I blew an apex seal... what else is there? Well there are many things to check for... So, your best bet would be to first, since it is a new car, give it a compression test, full tune up, and then look at the FSM . It list most common symptoms and tells you what could be the culprit... L8ter.... and welcome to the club.
