88 S/4 NA - Shifter Bushings Replaced...

....I did my research and looked up in search the links on replacing the shifter bushings. The job went very well and of course the shifter now feels GREAT/NORMAL. As it turns out, the idiots that replaced my clutch did not even put the old ones back in, even if they were in one piece, much less tell me about it.

i replaced mine too a long time ago, usually they are bad in a car if the person doesnt take good care of it.

mine were bad in a car that was owned by a rx-7 collector

i just replaced mine too, its so nice, my shifts are nice and fast

I almost bought new ones for my car, but I forgot that mine were actually decent. I finally put my shifter back in today after it being out for over a year and was pleasently suprised. Now my MX-3 is a whole different story. You know how much most shifters move from all the way left to all the way right in neutral? Mine does that when in gear.

the idiots may have realized that you don't have to take apart the shifter to change the clutch... unless you specifically asked them to check the bushings i wouldn't sweat it.

also, those things deteriorate into absolutely nothing and/or fall into the shifter housing after such a long time of abuse.
