Use the stock rear, you only have 2 options unless you want to go aftermarket. Which is 4.3 or custom.

Can I butt in here too?

I have a convertible, which I was told that has a slower rear gear ratio for cruising. What is the approved rear gear set? What options are there?

Thanks!

88 convertibles came with a 3.9 rear end for increased gas mileage.

You could swap in either a 4.1 or a 4.3 for faster accelleration, but at the cost of top speed and gas mileage.

I use a 4.1 in my 88 vert.

The auto's also had 3.90 gears. To the author, you have three choices.
3.90
4.10
4.30
