'88 Performance Statistics

Ah, finally my account has been activated. I'm looking into getting an '88 GXL. However, i have some questions the owner could not answer.
1. Top speed? 0-60? Engine HP?
2. Does the GXL have a turbo in it?

Thanks in advance.

S4 (1986-1988) has 146 BHP, and expect low to mid 16 second 1/4 times stock.

The only turbo 2nd gen RX7 is the "Turbo II"
-The Turbo II is not a twin turbo, the "II" is because it is the 2nd turbocharged RX7 (first was the savanna FB in japan only)
All others (including the GXL) are N/A
To find out what all your GXL has.. click here
For all other models and years, check out this thread

If it's an automatic, don't buy it
Unless you want an auto... cant think why you would want an auto, but go for the 5 spd.

Oh, all this information is available in the FAQ, and in the archives.

If you're interested in the 2nd gen rx7, start reading the archives, FAQ's and other posts.

Doesn't hurt to search for the answer either. ALOT of Q's have been answered already

For what it's worth, 0-60 should be in the ballpark of 7 seconds.

Try adding a second onto that unless it is a Turbo.

The fastest stock Non-turbo's tested were 7.6 seconds (86 Sport, 89 GTUs), while most non-turbos (like the 88 GXL) came in at 8.0-8.5 second 0-60.

I said ballpark not exact... I had a person counting my time. not a machine, so they could have been wrong.
