im helping a buddy of mine work on his N/A 88 , and he said his buddy hooked up the terminals wrong when jumping his car and well now he has NO power except the headlights AND interior lights (No gauges etc etc).. blew the MAIN FUSE and he replaced it as well as replaced the ECU but to no prevail...the car worked fine b4 the batter incident? Any help would be greatly appreciated....

 

Does the starter turn over w/key to start? Do the wipers or turn signals work w/key to on? These aspects would tell you if the ignition switch was receiving power. Also, in the interior fusebox is the 15 amp Engine fuse good? If the Main Relay clicks w/key to on that would tell you that the fuse is good. There is a four wire check connector plug near the lead coil. One of the wires is Black/White. If this wire has 12 volts w/key to on then the Engine fuse is good and the Main Relay is at least doing half of what it is supposed to do (the Black/Yellow wire having 12 volts w/key to on at either coil would tell you that the relay is fully operational).
