88 motor in 89 chassis

My dad currently has a spare motor for a '88 RX-7, which we were looking for a spare car with a blown motor to put in.

I found one with a shot motor, and a transmission that needs a bit of work, but it's a '89, and he's not sure whether it will fit or not.

It's not a turbo or anything fancy.

I have an 86 sport rebuild in my 89 GXL. it works, but it doesnneed some modding. The only big deal was grinding down the engine block and drilling the UIM to fit.

I decided to switch to pre-mix rather than swap front covers and just left the OMP zipped tied in the engine bay. Oh, yeah VDI had to go too.
