88 GXL swap options
88 GXL swap options
I have a 88GXL but wanting to upgrade.
I am considering second gen turbo swap, V8 swap, or third gen rx7 tt swap.
please rate on feasiblility, cost, how car handles with swap, difficulty..
Mine runs so good though I am prob going to sell it for $3000 then buy a second gen with a blown drivetrain.
Call me at 7046519767 if interested

If interested in what?
Any swap is "feasible" but some are nonsensical.
For instance, given the work involved, a 3rd gen TT swap seems silly to me as the same amount of power could be made with upgrades to a 2nd gen T2 and no fabrication would be required.
A V-8 swap is also relatively easy and completely changes the character of the car.
Handling/weight distribution is essentially unchanged and there is a lot of info available on the myriad small details involved. If you start with a good rolling chassis (suspension/brakes/interior intact and ready to go) figure between 5 and 10K to drop in a V-8.
If you want a 2nd gen turbo, just buy a good running example and be done...why bother with a swap when the real deal can be had?
