88' GTU Won't Start...HELP!!
This is my first rotory just so you all know. I changed the water pump due to the weep hole opening causing massive coolant leakage and now it won't start. It sat for a while while I was waiting on parts so the battery died and I had to replace it. The coolant tempature sensor also broke, but not the pigtail. The new battery has started to loss its power due to me trying to troubleshoot the problem so now everytime I go out to work on it I have to keep another jumped in to try to start the car. Fuel pump is fine as well as the filter. All fuses are good, replaced most of them anyways. Completly at my wits end...almost got rid of my baby because of this stupid problem but caught myself in time. I need fresh ideas from experienced people...please help get my baby back on the road.

It obviously ran before....i can almost promise you that if you just parked it for a week or so or whatever to change your water pump, and it wont fire, its most likely flooded and your plugs are fould out...id pull all of your plugs, clean them really well, pull your EGI fuse, crank it a couple times, and shoot some ATF into your rotor housings... i personally use a cheese dick ketchup bottle, it works well.. then install your plugs and wires, it should fire right up...it WILL smoke heavily for about 10 minutes...an hour of driving or running should clear it all out...on my TII (before the rebuild) it used to flood alot and it was easier for me to just pop the UIM off a little bit and inject the ATF there...here a pic of my squirt bottle...aka special tooling A http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/1371/unflood1do.jpg
if you just got this car and it has never ran since you recieved it, i would check compression, and if you have compression, carry on from there..

After looking around a while longer I noticed my coolant temp sensor connector was broken. That seems to be first on the list of reasons. I appreciate the help and will update once I've replaced the sensor and tried again.

Well I've replaced the sensor but it still won't start. I have removed the plugs and they were dry so I know it wasn't flooded. It did run after I got it (I got the car back in Aug of 2005) since then I have replaced the clutch, ran fine afterwards, and the water pump. BTW I forgot about this previously but it died randomly right before I noticed my water pump so I towed it to a place to fix it and never started it again untill I was sure the engine wouldn't overheat. After waiting for parts and then trying to get it started it was about 2-3 months till now. Any help is greatly needed. I think it may be the engine block grounding wire cause the plugs won't arch to the block but will to another point but I don't know where the wire is. All vaccum lines are good, fuel good, spark good, etc...there is a random wire with a black connector that seems to go to a bolt steming off the alternator/starter harness....any clue as to what it might be or where it goes? Once again thanks for any help.
