Question 88 AE With Stock TwinTurbo ?????

Is there such a thing as this one of my father's friend insists that his AE is a True Stock Twin Turbo and that it is one of 60 Twin Turbo AE RX-7's in north america

the car doesnt have any distinguishable changes from a normal T2 AE and I havent had a chance to get a good look under the hood

The owner says that he specially ordered it from japan as a special edition T2

Car has been baby'ed alot and stored for most of its life
Grey exterior black leather interior
50'000 km's completely stock no rust
It is truly a beautiful car

He prob thinks that the "II" in TurboII means twin-turbo. Common mistake. Theres no such thing as a twin-turbo FC. The only twin-turbo FC ever made was a "test mule" for the FD. The engine & drivetrain was placed in an FC body for testing purposes.

Why would Mazda go to all the time & trouble of developing a unique twin turbo system for only 60 cars?

Your friend is either bullshitting or just plain wrong...

Look at this logically, why would they be testing the twin turbo, when they had not released the S5 yet.

Raise the BS Flag!!!!

Tell him its called twin scroll, its only a smaller pathway for the air to hit the fins at a more voilent angle, and increase spool up.

We need to see pics of this supposed "silver" AE. Especially the engine bay and turbo(s). I have heard of auto manufacturers building super rare options on cars, yet never saying a word about their existence.

For example: 1970 Dodge Coronet R/T Convertible Hemi. A *VERY* poor wood shop teacher (missing fingers) can count how many were made on one hand.

It's possible there are some really rare FC's out there, but a picture would prove it. Post up the pics and we'll pick them apart!

Close. There were only two '70 Coronet R/T Hemi 'verts made.

Owning a Mustang, I'm also into the musclecar scene, and a local guy here has two original 1967 Ford Mustang GTA 390c.i. Playboy Pink 'verts. According to all the documentation he could find, he has two of a total of twelve made that year.
