Is there a difference between fuel maps/timing between a 87 low imp(injectors) and 88 high imp ECU? Just traded for 88 t2 from Brando1985 and it ran great with the proper ecu but the wire to the seconday injectors was fried, now with the 87 ecu and harness (with the injector resistor wired out) its running VERY rich and backfiring apon (hard) startup. I thne have to rev it to 4k ish for about 10 seconds and then when it settles it will still miss and smell like unburnt fuel, like the timing was off. Anyhelpful suggestions would be excellent, thanks in advance.

 

The impedance of the resistors have nothing to do with the ECU functions.

 

im aware, im mearly clarifying the differences in the wiring harnesses and ECU model years

 

An 87 TII ECU N332 will work in an 88 TII with ECU N333 and vice-versa!

 

any other ideas besides checking the timing if the sparks/plugs/coilpacks/injectors are all known to be running well?
