Question 87 w/89 motor troubles

i just got an 87 turbo 2 with a shot motor for practically nothing and i happened to have (dont ask why) an 89 motor and tranny with about 25K on it just laying around. i've got just about everything hooked up, but the switch from mechanincal to electric oil pump worrys me, im planning to just hook up the oil pump to a switch like in a race car but i want to make sure im not going to screw something up by doing it. any input would be greatly appreciated

i have an s4 t2 ill trade you for that motor if you want to keep it factory, ive been lookin for an s5. mine has good compression, and just about everything still connected to it, including the turbo.

your talking about oil injector pump right?it isnt a good idea to but a switch on it.. the s5 ECU connects to it and controls how much it pumps by changing the signal to it. 2 things that you should do is swap the pump off of the motor that came out of the car or disable it and premix the car(oil in the gas)

wish you could do that on an s5 with an s4 t2. if you do the omp circuit in the ecu willmake you run in 'limp' mode, and not go above like 3k rpms, i may just need to go standalone. damnit i hate spending cash. but ut does give me reason to attempt

http://www.tweakit.net/shop/product_...roducts_id=117 . or just fab some up from a gsxr 750.throttle response would kick ***, especially if i went with as light weight as posssible flywheel, rotors and all that jazz, which will suck when it comes rebuilding that bastard. i wish i could just get the factory s5 na, but damn boost is fun. i love it, adn i must say, i now consider boost a highly regarded religous factor that i love whole heartedly. i need megasquirt and spark! anyone else have any other ideas to throw that puppy in there? or should i just go to plan b and head for the 302? i just love wankels though

Why not switch front covers and use the mechanical metering pump setup on the S5 motor? The only thing you'll need to watch for is the eccentric shaft moving on you and a thrust bearing slipping down. You'll have to lock the clutch pedal down to force the pressure plate to constantly apply pressure while the pulley hub is out.
