wil a 3rd gen rearend work on a 2nd gen?

from what people say, there is no need to change to a 3rd gen rear end
the tII is supposed to be just as strong
however the limited slip is different b/t the 86-88 tII cars and the 89-91 tII cars
i would assume that the 3rd gen does not have the same limited slip as 86-88

well, i just need an lsd for my t2 but not really sure what to do and don't want to spend a lot of money

then you should be fine with sticking w/ any of the 86-91 LSDs
perhaps try thepartstrader.com, they've always got those things for sale used

yeah ive looked there and there really isn't anyone with an lsd that interests me
