87 Turbo II wont start!
Ok, First off ill explain the whole situation. I'm buying this car tomorrow from a guy In Salt lake city. I've had a few RX-7's in the past but I have never owned a turbo model before. Lets assume this guy isn't lying but the story goes. It ran 3 1/2 months ago before he parked it, now it will not start but it cranks. I'm picking up the car for a steal of $750 so there may be more to it then that. Anyone have some good suggestions?

If the pics are accurate it looks like a decent deal, but only if you buy it knowing that you'll likely have to rebuild the motor, or pay someone to do it for you. 136,xxx miles, if I'm seeing that right? If it has a hard time starting it probably is worn out and has very low compression due to that fact, which can only be fixed with a rebuild.

Besides an engine rebuild couldn't there be other factors I could look for like flooding? How could I check the car to see if it is flooded when I try to start it?

flooding is a good place to start. A quick search will yield you many many threads that describe how to deflood the engine. While you're at it, search how to do a compression test on the engine, as this will also be important information.
Remember, it is almost guaranteed that your question (doesn't matter the question) has been asked, and answered, before.
And last, a good link for you: http://aaroncake.net/RX-7/buy2.htm

Yes there can be other factors, but low compression contributes to flooding problems, and if it's on the original motor then it's very likely near the end of its usable life. Stock turbo motors tend to last between 100k and 150k miles. Mine didn't even make it to 100k, a lot of people's barely make 125k.
