87 turbo car ?s

A guy came up to me today and offered me a 87 turbo for 800 bucks. It has rims VAFC or whatever boost gauges and some other things I forgot to mention. It blows smoke but still starts.

I needed to know the difference between the series 4 turbo and 5. Like 1/4 0-60 , life span, how well they mod compared to the series 5. Im talking about just intake exaust fcd boost control clutch. Where will that take me? 13.9 I hope. Please dont tell me this turbo wont be as fast as my N/A when Im done with it. My N/A does around a 14.9-15.1 right now. I have beat many low 15 sec cars by a few car lenghts.

Take IT!! A 87 turbo II is worth $800. With some bolt-ons and good driving skills.. you can easily get into the low 14s.

Make sure it doesnt have MAJOR problems. How many miles? Might need an overhaul or a rebuild.

He said a 15.3 the first time out. I have seen TIIs get into the 13s with an open intake, exhaust, and a FCD. Do that with an N/A. (Without gutting it of weight)

Sweet guys. Looks like some good deals going around. Anyways yeh I will be working on it. Probly getting a Video for rebuilding.

NitroRacer...LOL... Sure like im just going to give up my N/A because I have a turbo driving time bomb. Dood my N/A will be fast and banging 9000 rpms when im done with it. Im also using the N/A for my daily driver and beater and dragger. Its going to be wile before the turbo gets fixed and fast. I will have this totally differnt feeling driving the turbo though. With that scoop and boost and all will make me feel completly different than when I drive the N/A. Im totally looking forowered to it. Hopefully I will be able to drive the turbo for a few days before I rebuild it , u know to get it out of my system and all...
Also my N/A has lots of custom crap interior , exterior. It looks like really good. I dont think I will give the turbo that much atention. Basically Im just going to drive it and not try and spend that much money. Im just hoping for a 13.7-13.8 wich is good enough to beat all my friends hondas engine swaped hatches with Vtec head swaps wich are running from 13.9-14.4. My N/A will be able to do 14.4 soon but 13.9 I dont think so. Not until I street port it but the damn engine was just rebuilt.
