87 tii for 1000.. sounds fishy??!?

the guy who owns it has a car lot.. ans IS friends with my dad so i guess i can trust him and rule out the used car dealers are evil thing..

ok here is the deal.. 87 turbo2 new motor.. the mechanic that works at the shop put in the enginge and couldnt get it to start. so needless to say it is not running, they have no idea why...

So i guess the $1000 question is buy it or not. I really would like these things and would like to have one. But it will have to be my daily driver asap.

I did a SEARCH and found that alot of people have problems getting their car to crank after a new engine it put in it...

ANY ideas or comments are helpfil thanks

well if it is a NEW engine they it probably is still building up compression. you might need to go through that beark-in process.

you can get it started with the forum's help

i would buy it even if you never get it started.. think of the worth of all the brand new parts on the motor in that thing!!!

Daily driver car.......I think I'd take a pass on it if I needed a daily driver to get to work etc each day. It's gonna take a bit of time and effort and money to get it working. Plus a rotary education which takes time and some thought. Online manual at http://www.Iluvmyrx7.com

Like hailers said, not good for a daily driver. That being said I WILL buy the first T2 I find for $1000. Running or not.

Dittos to that. I have three now and don't need more....but for a grand I'd buy it in a heartbeat. But I wouldn't recommend that car for someone who NEEDS to get to work and back each and everyday and it's his only mode of transport. That car is going to need a lot of tlc and MONEY.

WHAT? I've had my '90 TurboII and driven it every single day (except winter) with no problems for over a year now.

And I paid $1500 for it with a blown motor
