87 t2 blown motor...good buy?
i found a car in auto trader it is an 87 t2 the shell has 140xxx...the motor has 10xxx after the rebuild..he has all receitps to prove rebuild but car nolonger runs...he thinks its compression but does not know for certain...said if car sits a day or 2 and you start it up white smoke comes out...for a minute(i have heard that this is common)...he is asking 1500 obo...what do you guys think
he said it started up and only smoked for a few mins.
there are other factors like suspension/body too.
make him an offer.
i wouldnt' go over what icemark said it it didnt' run. But if it was exceptionally clean or had other new things it might be worth more.
