ok i went to this lot with a friend to look at this jetta with him that he's all happy about. well as im walking threw the lot i see a 87 SE sitting there looks realy clean so i brake away and ask the guy about it. well he started her up for me and all. well heres the thing-- she jumps rite to 4-45k rpm and stayes there then when she starts to warm up the the exhaust glows all the way back to the last cat when the motor got warm it just shut off.
i got the guy to et me pull the exhaust off and try to start it up thinking the cats wgere cloged but didnt change anything anly ran for a minute or two then shut off again. everything under the hood looks stock. would anybody here have any kinda hint to whats going on. i would like to get this for a grocery getter to keep the milage off my t2. asking price is $500 but going to try and offer $300.
