Unhappy '87 RX-7 (non turbo)

Oh great RX-7 Gurus!
I hope and pray that someone has had this problem in the past and it was a simple fix.

The car strats up fine, and after warming up, the car idles just fine. When I drive it, it starts to drop ~500 to 1000 RPM for no apparent reason. Then when I stop, it rev's up fine, but when holding it at a steady RPM, it drops RPM, then comes back up after a few seconds.

I have tried the choke cleaner trick, but the exaust system seems to work fine. The fuel pump has been replaces less tha a week ago. Is there something I am missing here?

Please let me know if you have any idea on how to solve this delima!

a water thermo sensor going on the fritz is just one of probably several things that could cause this...does it "buck" or is it a smooth drop of 500-1000 rpms?

It definately "bucks" when the RPM comes back up after a second or two.

is it like a vroom, put-put, vroom?

if so, you might want to check out your fuel pump, or injectors for leaks. oh yeah, checking the tps is good to.
