87 n/a smog equipment and 6 port questions

I am currently undergoing the task of removing all my smog stuff and cleaning my engine up. What my question is when removing the rats nest, what do i do with the purge valve? Leave it there or is there a way i can remove it without harming anything? Another question i have is on the 5th and 6th ports. Due to my circumstances im removing the 5th and 6th port sleaves until i have a way to activate them and my question is the air line that is on the lower intake manifold do i just cap it, or can i remove it, or do i have to put the bolts back in or some type of plug so it doesn't have a vaccum leak? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The aux ports on a S4 are activated by exhaust pressure, so why would you disconnect them???

well first of all they weren't working due too the fact that my cat is knocked out and i have hearders on so no backpressure, no opertation. when i took my lower intake manifold off and pulled out the sleaves, one of the pins that the rod for the actuator connects to the sleave was out so i didn't have function at this part either and also if the sleave just happened to open and the pin fall through my engine would probably be toast. due to my current financial situation im just going to remove them for now until i can figure out another way to open them. this is why they are gone. so do i need to cap the two air holes in my lower intake manifold or are they on there own route?

Despite the often posted erroneous information, the cat and back pressure have nothing to do with aux port operation.

They work off exhaust velocity/ pressure. With the proper exhaust design you can run with no cat and they will work fine.

Back pressure is always a bad thing. The mistake is when people put bigger exhaust or mufflers on, and the aux ports stop working. It is not from reduced back pressure, but rather reduced exhaust velocity.

this is all good information to know but it is off the topic and not needed at this point due to the fact that my sleaves are already removed and i have no way to make them work right now, so all i want to know is if i have to cap off the holes that the metal ail line was using.

So... if I replaced my cats with a straight pipe (which I did) and had everything else stock, would that be acceptable to actuate the 5/6th ports?

if you had the proper fitting and U tube inside the exhaust, yes.

A raceing beat pre-silencer has this and it replaces the cat, with the ports working just fine
