87 N/A Exhaust
87 N/A Exhaust
Trying to keep my car's value up as a collectible after I noticed the bluebook went over 5 grand when i paid 3500 for it in august.
I want an exhaust, does this depreciate or appreciate the cars value, it already has some generic non-orginal one on it. I'm thinking borla or racing beat. I'd imagine both are good, the borla would follow the racing beat after the cat. I'm looking for a slightly "tuner" sound because its not a muscle car and I'm not even going to try. Just an easy veroom nothing screaming. Anywhere I can find sound clips for each exhaust set?
Anyways, Racing beat all the way or Racing beat then borla cat-back.

At the moment, they are not viewed as a "collectable" by most of the general public, so I wouldn't worry about keeping it original unless you have one of the more unusual models (10th AE or GTUs)
Keeping everything stock is probably preferable for a collector. However, it also depends on the collector. You can always switch them out and keep the originals around for when/if you decide to sell it.

Ya, it appreciated suddenly by $1500 over less than 6 months... maybe 3 even. After that it stayed almost flat for the past year. It's gone up about $100 since then. As far as I know it isn't becoming a collector's item; it might be from the RX-8 and perhaps popular trends.
Since you don't have the stock exhaust anyway it shouldn't matter. I plan on boxing and saving all my OEM stuff myself when I upgrade, just in case I need them for resale. Too bad I didn't think to pull the OEM intake off of that one parts car. Racing Beat is an excellent brand, btw. It seems to have the best reputation for quality and reliability out of all the brands mentioned in these forums.
