87 N/a exhaust

ok i was reading up on grounds for our cars and noticed most of them said to redo the ground to the exhaust . no when i removed my stock exhaust this past spring , there was no ground to the exhaust . i have all new piping there except the down pipe and the little cat there. so no main cat and no stock mufflers. i have 2.5 going all the way back. do i need to ground the exhaust ? or is it grounded up higher on the down pipe? please let me know. if i do need to ground it, where from and where too.thanks

I believe its on the flange of the left rear muffler. There may be more but I remember that one on my car.

Grounding the exhaust (at the mufflers) does a couple of things.

Limits static electrical charges in the muffler and exhaust system.

And lowers engine noise protential in the audio system.

This is even more important if you have covered/shielded exhaust compontents.

So yes, I recommend grounding the mufflers.
