87 gxl running extremely rich

i have emissions to pass pretty soon and my o2 was bad so i replaced it and then i took a reading off of it and the reading was .945-.952!! and i was jus woderin if anyone had any ideas of where i should start lookin, i was thinkin maybe a leaking injector, any help will be appreciated.

You have to take the reading in 'closed loop' mode to be meaningful. The o2 sensor reading should then swing up and down between .45 volt very rapidly. O2 sensor signal is not considered at idle.

Do a basic tune-up, then go to the emissions stations with a fully warmed engine, and post your results here if you fail. It's easier to tell what's wrong and what is likely to be the cause.

If you fail emissions, then you can go back free of charge to get checked again (that's how it is in Ma, don't know about your state though)

i did the test in closed loop and im in UTI right now and next week i will be testing it w/ a 5 gas analyzer (after a basic tune up this weekend) and ill go from there and will keep results posted, thanx 4 the input
