87 GXL rear susp in 89T???
it was raining today and i lost control of my car and slammed my beautiful 89t2 into a 1 foot curb going 40mph....my rear end is totally fucked up....LSD CV joints the sway bars are bent....most of the damage is on the driverside rear bit it was hit so hard there that it messed up my entire rear suspension.....
heres my question....now i need an entire new rear suspension for my car......will the 87 GXL rear suspen w/ LSD swap out and into my 89 T2??? are there any differences between the suspension?? also would i need a shop to swap it out?? how hard would it be...could the average general knowledge home mechanic do it????...

The GXL, or any other N/A rear end for that matter, will not fit. The TII driveshaft has a different flange that fits into the diff, and the half shafts are different on the N/A versus the TII. Your best bet is to find a totalled TII in a junkyard, or just buckle down and buy one off the parts trader. Any TII rearend from 87-92 will work. But the LSD's from the 87-88's are better from what I understand.

Laying Down Rotary Law
It can be done you would have to drill out the diff flange (wider) to fit the TII diff
or you can buy the mazdatrix adapter
Its a one piece system
unbolt the cross and the shocks etc and the whole thing drops

The N/A can fit but it's smaller and weaker. try and find a turbo rear end. the 87/88 LSD's are clutch time which engage faster but chances are they are all wore out but now. the 89-91 one's take a big longer but will last forever. the 3rd gen torson type are the best
