86 vs 88 injector clips??

I have some brand new injectors on my 86 motor that I tried swapping to my 88, only to find out that the clips are different, would I have to redo the whole harness to get the injectors to fit?

The 88 is high impedance injectors with no Resistor pack and the 86 uses LOW Impedance injectors with a Resistor pack.
So really you are working *** backwards.
Unless you modify something, the ECU will see LOW impedance, and that is not a good thing.
The Only way I can see you running the New injectors, without modifying a wire, etc, is to also use the 86 harness and injector pack.Everything else is fine.

If you want to keep your 88 harness:
A) Splice in a resistor for each injector. 12ohm, iirc, but double check that number.
B) Grind the tab off the injector so the clip will fit or replace the stock connectors with Bosch EV1 connectors.

then again why not Use the old injector clips that FIT the injectors since you are splicing in Resistors.?
Honestly,if you have to Hook up the Injectors, everything is basically there to Connect to,all the sensors,alt,etc..That is why I am saying it would be just as well to use the old 86 harness and resistor pack.
It takes about 10 minutes to yank the harness.
In the Long run you can alter that harness too,to run a HIGH impedance aftermarket Center notch injector setup(like 750 Rc injectors if going Turbo) by Bypassing the Pack.No Cutting or splicing of the actual harness at all.
..and NOTE: you can get NEW injector clips too.IF you need them.
Kgparts sells them.( Injector-Rehab Fuel Injector Cleaning Services)

Depends if the '86 is a parts car or not.
Alternatively, you can just buy a used set of high impedance S4 injectors.

It's not the ECU that has anything to do with it.
The N326 and 327 both see HIGH Impedance in the long run.
It is when you mix Low injectors with NO resistor pack or HI Impedance injectors with a Resistor pack that things start to get snookered.

I hate plugging parts in a Help thread ..but..IF you need a set of HI's..I have a set here..Cheap..(off an 88).

No problem..I hope that sort of answered some of your question.
88 Hi impedance..what were they thinking?..(next thing you know it'll be an electric OMP as a Upgrade.....???)

EV1's have the slot in the middle so they are shaped to fit S4 low impedence injectors. So it's the same fit issues as trying to use high impedence injectors with a low impedence plug. You'd have to grind the tab off your injectors to make the connector fit. I'm not really familiar with their product line, but I haven't seen anything like the EV1 connector with an offset slot.
