Cool 86 RX7 Gas Mileage

I just purchased a 1986 RX7 GXL. It seems to be getting only 220km to the tank. Is this normal or is something wrong here? What is the average other people have been getting?

Please help.

if you want good mpg then drive a honda and sell the rx7

well easy with the lead foot.

i get 25 mph usually, around 330-340 per tank. i did notice a very very slight increase in MPG when i added an aftermarket intake.

but hes right. buy a honda if you want good MPG.

i remember getting 35 MPH in my civic. uhhhh i miss that. but i also like not seeing every other person driving my car, and being like everyone else.

Here's how to check your MPG the right way...

1. Fill up the car until the pump stops automatically
2. Write down the mileage
3. Drive
4. Fill up the car until the pump stops automatically
5. Write down the mileage
6. (New Mileage - Old Mileage) / (Miles Driven) = MPG
7. Post again with what you get

It's best to do it a few times. I get varying results (I do this EVERY tmie I fill up). I get anywhere from ~14 to ~23 mpg depending on how, where, and conditions of my driving.
