86 n/a normal operating temp?!?!
OK i have an 86 n/a with basic bolt-on mods done... nothing major
WE ALL know what an S4 guage cluster looks like... so we should all know right about where our temp guage should be.
When i drive my car... ever after hours upon hours. the needle never moves more than 10mm from the bottom. I've replaced my thermostat so that's not hte problem, i was just wondering how your cars (S4) compare.. and if i get a REAL guage what should the safe operating tempurature be? 180? 190? 200?
Thanks guys. Markus

my 88 na stays 4/5 to the top. I put an aftermarket temp gauge and it runs 190-205. I've set the timing, cleaned the rad, replaced the fan, put in a 180 thermostat, removed the cat, have all the plastic pieces in and can't make it run cooler. Can the water pump be bad without leaking or squeeling ? maybe bent impellers?
