Unhappy 86 GXL - RIP...... Need a new motor!!

Well I just went out to install the exhaust gaskets on my HKS cat-back...... started her up.... crunch... goodbye apex seal.

Time for a new engine...... what's involved with throwing in a turbo? Anyone know of a good condition engine for me?

Thanks for any help and suggestions.

Matt

Too much work and money for it to be worth it. You would have a better time buying a Turbo II. But if you really wanted to do the swap you would need:

Turbo II engine (complete. and that means you need all the piping, solonoids, sensors, intercooler, injectors, and everything else)
Turbo II complete wiring harness
Turbo II guage cluster
Turbo II ECU
Turbo II transmission and rearend would be nice, but not necessary.

To make the swap feasible, you should have a Turbo II parts car and just swap everything that way. But like I said, it is much more worth it to buy a decent Turbo II. It would probably be more cost effective as well.

If you could find a good deal on a TII parts car, the cost might actually be not bad. Like a smashed up car or something, or a front clip. Otherwise it would probably cost too much

Its not really my car, it is the "vision" of what I would like my car to be someday. That car is so tight I had to make it into my sig. The kit is by Knight Sports. Here is a pic of the front.
