funny this came up, because I had an arguement with my friend today about these exact same mirrors, he said they would look good on my car, I said he's a moron.

would look like crap on a stock appearance fc. if youre lowered 2", and have at least the s5 bumper mouldings, i think it would really set it off.
idk about the build quality of the mirrors, but lets assume theyre carbon fiber.
theyre called f1 mirrors b/c theyre similar to the mirrors used on f1 cars. ive seen them on lots of cars, its a very 'tuner/jdm' thing right now, but your car has to look clean to start with, and has to be lowered. if you put them on a stock fc, then the will look like truck mirrors.

Those daft things are so small you might as well just go without mirrors.

That looks like an accessory for a "Rascal" scooter!!

nononono..............an RX-7 is a sleek looking vehicle. These are not sleek looking. You do not drive a golf cart.

yea youve got to remember that they are small, thats why they usually dont break up the lines of a vehicle. by creating a smaller entity outside of the vehicles bodylines, they should make the rx7s body lines stand out more.

I've seen FC's without side mirrors. I can assure you that removing them does not "make the RX-7's body lines stand out more". I have no idea how you think it would.

when i get off my *** and bust out photoshop, ill show you exactly how itd look. that was a big trend in that era however, was making mirrors that matched the cars lines too closely. in the end, they just looked awkward at best (especially the s4) which is why you see these mirrors on alot of highly modified show cars. i work with people who design bodykits for high profile cars.. so ive seen this stuff done before.
now youve got to imagine a lowered s5 rx7 with these, not a sprung up stock one.

yea. i give you that. you guys know that those dont go over the actual mirror triangle right? maybe thats why everyone thinks theyre ugly.. you have to make a block plate for where the mirrors used to go, and bolt the new ones onto the door panel itself. that way the mirror lines up at the approx. height the old ones were @

Like I said, I've seen it. At first I didn't even notice they were missing, so that's hardly an improvement.

...which is why you see these mirrors on alot of highly modified show cars.
No, you see it on show cars because on a show car you have to modify everything whether it's an improvement or not. Functionality and good taste have long ceased to be features of show cars.

now youve got to imagine a lowered s5 rx7 with these, not a sprung up stock one.
So now ride height affects how a side mirror looks? That's just a wee bit of a stretch...

I think the lines of the stock s5 or s4 vert/turbo mirrors look much better than ANY aftermarket mirror.
